If more appealing and engaging. There are two you’re planning on making a video kinds of motion graphics animation – 2D (two dimensional) and 3D (three dimensional).with lots of graphics, it’s important to know the types of graphics design available to you to make your video
2D animation focuses on image manipulation. A flat, still image is made to move by juxtaposing different still movements of an object sequentially to create the appearance of movement done through use of animation software. This technique is similar to classic cartoons. However, it is not limited to cartoons – 2D animation can be applied to real-life images as well.
3D animation is more complex. The additional dimension provides more depth and detail. They can extend as far as a 360 degree angle view – meaning they are not flat images. Disney-Pixar’s Toy Story 3 is an example of a 3D cartoon. 3D animation can also create an environment and make imaginary objects come to life such as the planet of Pandora and the Na’vi in the moving Avatar.
In general, 2D and 3D animation can render scenes that create an entire sequence. If you don’t have time to shoot, you can actually opt for fully animated videos. It’s pretty nifty, if you ask me.
But, before jumping into a decision on which animation to use for your project, there are just some things you have to consider. One, 2D animation takes less time to create compared to 3D. A graphics design specialist can probably finish animating objects or other gfx in a day or two while 3D animated graphics can take up to four days to a couple of weeks to finish (depending on how detailed the object is.) So, you have to consider your time frame, if you think you have little time for post-production then it’s best to use the latter. Two, 2D animation costs less compared to 3D. And three, don’t be afraid to ask your preferred post-production company which kind of animation will work best with your video project. It’s always good to start on the right foot from the beginning of post-production.
Both 2D and 3D animation can render scenes that create an entire sequence. If you don’t have time to shoot scenes, you can opt for fully animated videos. However, you should consider the following when trying to decide whether to go with 2D or 3D. First, determine how much post-production time you have available. 2D animation takes less time to create. A graphics design specialist can finish animating objects or other .gfx in a day or two. 3D animation can take anywhere from four days to two weeks to finish depending on the detail of the object. Second, 2D animation costs less than 3D animation. Third, find out which type of animation will work best with your video project – ask the post-production company you are working with.
Most of our communication happens visually. In a world where imagination is infinite and we have the technology to bring to life our imagination – we need to grab our audience’s attention in an unforgettable way in order to stand out amongst others. Adding 2D or 3D motion graphics to your video is a way of doing that.
